Lansdale Plastic Surgery was founded in 2014. After graduating from residency in June of 2014, Dr. Floyd Herman officially began seeing patients on August 8th. The founding vision was to provide top-level aesthetic, reconstructive, and hand surgical care, the same caliber found at university hospitals, directly to the suburban Philadelphia community, sparing them the need to travel for high-end services.

Our ultimate mission is to preserve the personal touch of private surgical practice. In an era where modern corporate medicine often erodes the physician-patient bond, our goal is to ensure patients are seen and treated directly by Dr. Herman rather than being passed off to mid-level providers.

Our philosophy is rooted in direct surgeon-to-patient interaction combined with a commitment to science-based surgical care. By maintaining continuous certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, we ensure all treatments are current, safe, and evidence-based.

To make patients feel more at ease, Dr. Herman maintains a warm, clean office with a friendly staff and chooses to dress professionally in a suit rather than a white coat, which can sometimes feel intimidating.

Several of Dr. Herman’s friends and family often suffer from conditions that he can help treat. Being able to use his craft to help those closest to him provides a great sense of personal reward and reinforces the “human” element of my surgical work.

Dr. Herman loves participating in Lansdale Day and the Lansdale Parade. He drives a car that many people recognize as part of the practice, and he enjoys interacting with the community as a “normal person” who likes cars and is accessible. Being born and raised here, talking to neighbors about the issues affecting them is deeply impactful.

Dr. Herman was initially drawn to the independence of medicine; he wanted to be his own boss and have a stable, lifelong career. His aptitude for math and science pushed him forward, and the variety and complexity of plastic surgery keep him motivated every day.

The idea took root in junior high school, and Dr. Herman began reading medical texts actively as a young teenager.

It was a combination of wanting professional independence and being naturally gifted in STEM subjects. Dr. Herman earned the nickname “Doc” at a very early age, which seemed to foreshadow the path he eventually took.
